This month’s Kaisercraft collection is the Mint Wishes collection – “a medley of minty-fresh teal and natural textures makes Mint Wishes a truly Scandinavian Christmas affair. Snowy Spruce trees, geometric baubles, pine cones and birch mixed with a minimal colour pallet will have you dreaming of a mint Christmas wonderland!”
With the Creative Kit Club’s October Kit I was able to create 4 layouts. Instructions for the first 2 layouts are in the full colour step by step magazine that comes with the kit.
Absolutely loved using the Festive Circle die (which is the add on die).
You can order the October Mint Wishes Kit now! There is also another October kit that you can order – Rose Avenue. It will be shipped from the 5th of October. Alternatively, if you live in South Australia you can pick up the kit from Paper Flourish – they’re located at 27/ 16-28 Research Road, Pooraka, SA 5095.
“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” ~ Calvin Coolidge
This is such a cute idea for Christmas in July AND Christmas!
I made these reindeers last Christmas. I made some for the Adelaide branch of the South Australian Country Womens Association and I made extra (for sale) with the proceeds going to the South Australian branch of the RSPCA.
I’ve made them again for a CWA Christmas in July event coming up this weekend. This time around the craft store didn’t have any brown paper (luckily I had some leftover from last year). I bought other coloured paper! Nothing wrong with blue reindeer is there? ;)
The reindeers are quite easy to make. You can get the free printable template here.
To make the lollipop reindeers, you’ll need:
- coloured paper (I used Vivaldi paper A4 120gsm)
- double sided tape
- sticky tape
Print out the template. Cut around the outline of the reindeer. Cut out the nose and the middle of the template.
There are 2 folds. Fold the reindeer in the middle.
The back strip gets folded down and then brought to the front of the reindeer after the lollipop is attached to the reindeer. The stick of the lollipop moved so I taped the lollipop onto the back of the reindeer template.
Add double sided tape to the back strip and then fold them over the front.
And there they are! The cutest reindeer lollipops. EVER.
“Being a traditionalist, I’m a rabid sucker for Christmas. In July, I’m already worried that there are only 146 shopping days left.” ~ John Waters
