Tissue paper flowers …

I have a birthday party coming up this weekend and was searching online for DIY party decoration ideas. Nothing too fancy. Tissue paper flowers! Why did I not think of that? They are simple and inexpensive to make. I watched an online tutorial – OMG, you can make them in no time at all!

All you need is tissue paper, flexible wire (I used embroidery thread) and scissors.

With a pink-purple-white theme I bought 3 packets of tissue paper. To make the flowers, I had 5 sheets of tissue paper stacked on top of each other (each sheet of paper was cut – they measured roughly 12cm x 25cm). Folded them, accordion/fan style, as per the tutorial, and tied them in the middle. I rounded the edges, opened the sheets individually and fluffed them. Easy!
